From a Beauty Store Intern to Managing Multi-Million Dollar Operations, My Journey to Becoming an OBM
I was 16 when I landed my first internship at a beauty and wellness store. My role was simple. Assist the store manager, keep things organized, and make sure the shop was always ready to welcome customers.
What surprised me was how much I loved it.
I found joy in organizing products, arranging labels, and making sure every detail was in place. I loved seeing how structure and order created a better experience for both customers and the business.
Every school holiday, I returned. Learning, refining, and growing alongside the company.
As the business expanded, so did my responsibilities. I moved from assisting the store manager to handling daily operations, managing both physical and online stores, and supporting the team behind the scenes.
By the time I graduated, I had worked my way up to Assistant Manager, leading a team of over 60 staff members.
Discovering My Calling
I was running team meetings, structuring workflows, optimizing sales processes, and ensuring operations ran smoothly. Eventually, I became a Manager and co-led the company’s digital expansion.
That’s when I knew this wasn’t just a job.
I wasn’t just organizing shelves anymore. I was building systems that made people’s work easier, businesses more efficient, and customers feel cared for.
That early experience lit the spark that eventually became Highfly Systems.
From Corporate to Online Business Management

I began my journey as a freelancer, helping businesses stay organized as a bookkeeper and executive assistant. But let me tell you a secret…
